As you no doubt have heard by now, music swapping (generally in the form of MP3 files) is a commonplace occurrence carried on with no more compunction than pocketing change found in a payphone coin return slot.
Popular opinion on the ethics or morality of music sharing ranges from "it's wrong, it's stealing, and no one should do it" to "All music should be free, baby!" with most people weighing in somewhere between these extremes.
